Millard Fillmore Hospital

Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital is a 100,000 SF addition to an existing hospital in suburban Buffalo.  The new facility provides new Lobby/Entry, Surgery, Outpatient, Emergency and Inpatient facilities.  The three level addition completely screens the older hospital and re-images the facility to the community and is called an “extreme makeover” by the client, Kaleida Health. The new facility is clad in stone and aluminum panels with large glass areas in all patient spaces. The upper level nursing unit cantilevers over the lower level providing a covered walkway for patients entering the new two level lobby space.  Glass canopies extend into the parking area for public access in Buffalo’s winter climate.
